Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or ciabatta into ½-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the crostini are golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, lemon juice, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir until well blended and creamy. Optionally, add freshly cracked black pepper to taste.

Spread a generous dollop of the ricotta mixture onto each toasted crostini. Top with a slice of fresh fig or a few pieces of dried fig. Drizzle a small amount of honey over the figs on each crostini.

Lightly sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper, if desired. Garnish with fresh mint or basil leaves for added freshness. Serve immediately for the best texture, or arrange on a platter and serve at room temperature.
