01 -
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
02 -
Transfer the pecans to a small skillet and heat them over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until toasted and crunchy, about 1 to 3 minutes. Remove and transfer to a bowl or measuring cup.
03 -
Add the fig preserves to the toasted pecans and mix thoroughly.
04 -
Remove the blocks of feta from their packaging and place them in a small oven-safe dish. Drizzle the feta blocks with avocado oil, then sprinkle with dried oregano and black pepper.
05 -
Bake the feta at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven.
06 -
Decrease the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
07 -
Transfer the feta to the intended serving dish and stir until creamy. Pour the fig preserve and pecan mixture on top of the feta and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for another 12-17 minutes, or until the topping is hot and the cheese is bubbly.
08 -
Remove from the oven and place on a trivet, kitchen towel, or baking sheet. Alert your guests that the dish is very hot. Sprinkle fresh thyme over the dip. Serve with toasted baguette, pita bread, or crackers.
