French Strawberry Cake Dessert (Print)

# What You'll Need:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 1 1/3 cups flour
02 - 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

04 - 1 stick softened butter
05 - 1 cup sugar
06 - 2 large eggs
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - 1/2 cup sour cream or low-fat Greek yogurt

→ Additional Ingredients

09 - 2 cups roughly chopped strawberries
10 - Sugar for finishing

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
03 - In a large bowl, whip the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
04 - Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
05 - Alternately add the dry mixture and sour cream into the wet mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
06 - Gently fold in the chopped strawberries using a spatula.
07 - Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and sprinkle the top with sugar.
08 - Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
09 - Let the cake cool before serving. The cake will easily release from the pan if you wish to transfer it to a plate for display.
