Asian Style Ground Beef Lettuce (Print)

# What You'll Need:

→ Lettuce Wrap Sauce

01 - ¼ cup maple syrup, brown sugar, or coconut sugar
02 - ¼ cup coconut aminos, tamari, or soy sauce
03 - 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
04 - 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
05 - ¼ - ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
06 - 2 teaspoons arrowroot powder or cornstarch

→ Ground Beef Filling

07 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
08 - 1 lb ground beef
09 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
10 - 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
11 - 1 medium red bell pepper, finely diced
12 - ½ cup shredded carrots
13 - 4 whole green onions, sliced into 1-inch pieces
14 - Kosher salt, to taste
15 - Ground pepper, to taste
16 - Sesame seeds, to taste, for garnish
17 - Boston Bibb lettuce
18 - Steamed white rice or sautéed cauliflower rice (optional, for serving)

# How to Make It:

01 - Combine maple syrup, coconut aminos, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a measuring cup. Whisk until combined. Add arrowroot powder and whisk until smooth.
02 - Heat olive oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add ground beef and cook, stirring and breaking up with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
03 - Add garlic and ginger to the skillet. Cook, stirring continuously, until very fragrant, 1-2 minutes.
04 - Add bell pepper and carrots, cooking until bite-tender, 3-4 minutes.
05 - Pour the prepared sauce over the skillet contents. Stir and simmer until thickened slightly, 2-3 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, if needed.
06 - Stir in sliced green onions.
07 - Spoon filling into lettuce wraps (with or without rice) and garnish with sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
